SAN CARLOS, CA - July 29, 2015 – The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has completed the retrofit work of Natural Gas Line 147 along Brittan Avenue and is in the process of finishing the last few items on Tasker Lane. The next step will be a test run of the equipment in the line followed by the actual inspection tool.
PG&E is waiting for authorization from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on its request for an increase in the operating pressure of the line to allow for the inline inspection. In the meantime, PG&E continues to maintain the operating pressure at less than 110 pounds per square inch gauge (psig).
According to City Manager Jeff Maltbie, “We hope that PG&E can move forward with the inline inspection soon, as the data it will provide will inform us as to the safe operating pressure of Line 147 – a subject of some controversy over the last two years.”
