Claims against the City of San Carlos

In accordance with California Government Code, claims resulting from damage to personal property, personal injury or death must be submitted within six months of the loss, injury or accident. Claims concerning real property must be submitted within twelve months of the loss.

Claim forms can be obtained by calling the City Clerk's office at 650-802-4222, picking up a form from the City Clerk's office located at 600 Elm St, San Carlos, or by downloading the claim form here.


Claims may be submitted by mail or in person to:

You may also submit a scanned and signed claim form via email to the City Clerk.

Procedures:

All claims received are forwarded to York Risk Services, which provides third party administration services for the City. York will investigate all claims and make recommendations to the City. The claim examiner will contact the claimant to discuss the claim and determine damages. The claim examiner then reports to the City if the claim should be accepted or denied.
