Vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission- 1 Seat
The Parks and Recreation Commission now has one (1) vacant seat due to the resignation of a commissioner.

If you are a resident of the City of San Carlos and are interested in serving on this commission, applications are being accepted at this time.

Meeting Role and Schedule
The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the first Wednesday of even months at 7 p.m. and in study sessions, as needed, in the City Hall, Council Chambers, 600 Elm Street, San Carlos, CA 94070.  The Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding current and potential programs, services and facilities related to parks and recreation.  The Commission also advises and recommends to the City Council concerning acquisition of other properties suitable for parks and recreation activities and services. 

Parks and Recreation Commissioners work to gather input, make recommendations and advocate positions reflective of the needs of the community as a whole.  What benefit, for whom, at what cost, is a filter used in making decisions.  The Commission enjoys a close working relationship with staff, through the Parks and Recreation Director, which makes the work enjoyable, meaningful and beneficial to the community.

Application Deadline and Important Dates
The deadline for the receipt of applications in the City Clerk’s Office is Friday, February 2, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.

All applicants are advised to save the below tentative dates on their calendars. After the deadline, the City Clerk will contact the applicants with more information on the meetings. Applicants who are unable to attend the interview with the Council will be dropped from consideration.

• Meeting with Staff –  Monday, February 5th at 4 p.m.
• Interviews with City Council – February 13th early evening
