Community members looking to get more involved with the City now have a great opportunity. The City of San Carlos is offering a free 9-week Citizens Academy designed to help community members engage and learn about their city government.
The Citizens Academy offers participants the unique opportunity to meet City leaders and interact with department directors while learning how departments operate, how City funds are allocated and how decisions are made. Participants will enjoy comprehensive overviews of department programs and services, tour City facilities, visit upcoming project sites and take part in fun activities such as a Police K9 demonstration. This is a unique opportunity for San Carlos community members to participate in lively discussions and interactive activities to become a more involved and informed citizen. An Academy will be held as long as there is an interest from the community.
Planned sessions include: Government Overview; Financial Services and City Clerk; Police and Fire; Public Works; Community Development; and Parks & Recreation. A graduation ceremony will be held the final week.
