The San Carlos Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting Picnic Reservations. 
The reservable picnic areas are located at : Burton Park, Laureola Park, Arguello Park  and Crestview Park
(see application form for occupancy and rental fees for each site). 
These sites are reservable in advance, March through October. 
San Carlos Residents and San Carlos businesses may reserve a picnic site up to 6 months in advance.  Non-Residents may reserve a picnic site up to 3 months in advance. 



Picnic site amenities are listed below.  
Picnic Areas: Note – No portable BBQs allowed in ALL city parks.  To check site availability and to put in a picnic request, click

Water features will be on this summer! 


We will be running the water features at both Burton Park and Laureola Park beginning in May and ending in September.  Signage with the daily schedule for the water features will be posted at both parks soon.
 

Burton Park     1017 Cedar Street, San Carlos

Burton Park is the oldest and best known park in San Carlos. The central location and diversity of activities help attract a wide spectrum of users year round.

Park Amenities:

·        Baseball/soccer fields
·        Basketball courts
·        Outdoor Stage area
·        Tennis courts
·        Bocce courts
·        Playgrounds
·        Sand lot
·        Splash pad water feature (Closed due to extreme drought conditions)
·        2 Restroom stalls on site
·        Parking – 24 spaces on Chestnut cul-de-sac
·        Picnic areas are first come, first serve but open for reservation from March-October

Bocce Ball Courts, Burton Park

·       
Maximum group size:  12 people per court
·        Courts 1 and 2 may be reserved
·        Court 3 is to be open for general public use without reservations
·        No rentals on Wednesday and Thursday nights due to scheduled league games
·        Bring your own equipment
·        Picnic tables in the bocce area are available on a first-come, first serve basis

Playground Large Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 60 people
·        4 tables, approximate area 36’x48’
·        1 BBQ grill
·        Location:  along Cedar Street (corner of Cedar and Arroyo)
·        Reservation fee - $130 

Tot Lot Picnic Area (enclosed/fenced area)

·        Maximum group size – 20 people
·        1 table, approximate area 25’x27’ (plus small adjoining lawn area)
·        No BBQ grill
·        Note – tot playground is open to public use
·        Reservation fee - $68

Les Mundell Grove Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 60 people
·        3 tables, approximate area 30’x45’
·        2 BBQ grills
·        Location:  behind the Youth Center facility in a grove of redwood trees and has access on Woodland Avenue
·        Restrooms available at Burton Park north end by Playground Large picnic area
·        Reservation fee - $88

Chestnut/Bocce Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 40 people
·        4 tables, approximate area 30’x45’
·        2 BBQ grills
·        Location:  along Chestnut Street side, southside of the Bocce courts area
·        Restrooms available at Burton Park north end by Playground Large picnic area
·        Reservation fee - $88

Laureola Park     503 Old County Road, San Carlos

Laureola Park is a neighborhood park nicely tucked around Holly/Old County Road/Bayport street areas.

Park Amenities:

·        Baseball/soccer field
·        Basketball court
·        Playground
·        Splash pad water feature (Closed due to extreme drought conditions)
·        2 Restroom stalls on site
·        Parking – 30 spaces in lot
·        Picnic areas are first come, first serve but open for reservation from March-October

West Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 100 people
·        6 tables, approximate area 60’x110’ (plus small adjoining lawn area)
·        4 BBQ grills
·        Location:  close to parking lot and pre-school building
·        Reservation fee - $130

Arguello Park     260 Wellington Drive, San Carlos

Arguello Park is located .2 miles off San Carlos Avenue on Wellington Drive above Arundel School.  There is access on Phelps Road as well.

·        Open space
·        2 Restroom stalls on site
·        Parking – 30 spaces on Wellington parking lot
·        Picnic areas are first come, first serve but open for reservation from March-October

Sunny Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 50 people
·        4 tables, approximate area 30’x45’
·        6 BBQ grills
·        Location caution:  occasionally lands a fly ball from the baseball diamond
·        Reservation fee - $68

Shady Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 50 people
·        4 tables, approximate area 30’x45’
·        6 BBQ grills
·        Location caution:  occasionally lands a fly ball from the baseball diamond
·        Reservation fee - $68

Crestview Park     1001-A Crestview Drive, San Carlos

Park Amenities:

·        Playground
·        Trails
·       Restrooms
·       Basketball courts
·       Soccer field
·       2 Restroom stalls on site
·        Picnic areas are first come, first serve but open for reservation from March-October

Crestview Picnic Area

·        Maximum group size – 20 people
·        2 tables, approximate area 30’x30’
·        1 BBQ grill
·        Reservation fee - $68

Additional Picnic Sites

Please note: The City of San Carlos Parks are unable to accommodate groups over 100 guests.

Large groups may consider contacting the following County Parks for reservations:

  • Coyote Point, Huddart Park, Edgewood Park

San Carlos Residents and San Carlos businesses may reserve a picnic site up to 6 months in advance, and any Non-Residents may reserve a picnic site up to 3 months in advance.  Reservable months are from March through October only. 

  • Reservation must be made in person at the Parks & Recreation Office at the Adult Community Center, 601 Chestnut St., Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
  • Payment can be made by Visa or MasterCard, cash, or check. 
  • Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • For inquires regarding availability, please call the Parks & Recreation Office at (650) 802-4382.  We do not put placeholders in the Facility Booking system.
