In December 2009, the Institute of Transportation Studies newsletter announced that applications were being sought for the 2010 Pedestrian Safety Assessment (PSA) program. The Department of Public Works applied for the service on behalf of the City of San Carlos.
The application was approved, and the PSA was conducted in the spring of 2010. The PSA consisted of:
a review of policies, programs and practices and
a walking audit at two locations in San Carlos.
The City is currently implementing the PSA by enhancing its policies, programs and practices and through its capital improvement program.
